Samantha Garstin

Menstrual Wellness Coach

Cycle awareness and neurodivergent support for hormonal balance

About

Samantha Garstin is a late-diagnosed AuDHDer and Menstrual Wellness Coach who knows how hard it is to find support that actually works for your body and your brain. She's spent years helping people ditch generic advice and build real-world strategies that fit. Whether it's understanding how hormones and neurodivergence collide, learning the language of your body, or finding rhythms that work for your energy, her work is tailored, practical and grounded in lived experience. She completed 180 hours of Cycle Coach Facilitator Training, recognised by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), and works to high professional standards through continued learning, peer reflection and evidence-informed practice.

Why I Joined Aeva

"I'm excited by Aeva Health's mission because it aligns so closely with my own: helping people who menstruate feel more in control, more informed and less alone in their experiences. Women's health has been under-researched, under-funded and misunderstood for far too long—and I want to be part of changing that. Through my work, I've seen how powerful it can be when people start to recognise patterns in their cycle, connect the dots with their mental health, and feel seen in their neurodivergence or hormonal shifts."

My Approach

My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth and completely tailored to you. There's no one-size-fits-all here; we start with where you are. In our sessions, we'll look at what's actually going on in your life, your body and your brain, and make sense of it together. I'll help you build practical tools that work with your cycle, your energy and your neurotype. That might include tracking your symptoms, mapping your energy, creating sustainable routines, or unpicking the pressure to be "productive" all the time. This isn't about giving you another thing to do. It's about working with your body and brain in a way that fits into your actual life, not the imaginary perfect one.

Why Samantha Garstin is an Aeva Expert

Testimonials

"The time I have spent with Samantha has been pivotal to my overall life and period health. I remember after about 3 months of working together I had my 1st period in years where ...I SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH NO PAIN!!! I cannot tell you how happy this made me and how much of a difference this has made to my personal and work life.
Prior to working with Samantha, I frequently had days where I physically could not get out of bed, let alone make it to the office, which inevitably led to me having to call in sick. Even on days when I could manage to work, the pain made it almost impossible to concentrate.
Working with Samantha has provided me with the confidence and ability to excel on my terms and work with my cycle, and I look forward to progressing further with her."
Julie Farrin
"Before I started working with Samantha I had no idea how much my hormones influenced me differently throughout the month. I couldn’t understand why I was so determined and enthusiastic one week and then why I went more inward and always felt like a failure. I thought I was inconsistent, and it was my fault. I didn’t know the reason why I was frustrated after my bleed because when couldn’t get everything done! One of the biggest changes I have made is prioritising rest the week of my bleed. It is knowledge you just can’t buy and Samantha has taught me how to use this self-awareness to my advantage personally and in terms of my business planning. Her depth of knowledge and how she articulates herself are what drew me to her.
I would do more than just recommend her to you, I would beg you to enter her world to learn and understand how and why you feel like you do and how to use that knowledge to your advantage. You wouldn’t regret it for a second."

Reclaiming Her Cycle After 6 Years of Fibroids and Endometriosis

Julie, 41

The Struggle

Julie spent six years battling severe pelvic pain, unpredictable heavy bleeding, monthly A&E visits, and debilitating fatigue. During her period, she couldn’t work and relied heavily on prescription painkillers. Despite repeated GP visits, she received no specialist or cycle-specific support. By late 2020, she felt powerless, fearful of her cycle, and convinced this was just her “normal.”

Previous Attempts

Prescription painkillers, GP consultations, and multiple attempts to self-manage but no consistent or personalised support. The physical and emotional toll left her feeling stuck, unsupported, and exhausted.

Approach

Samantha guided Julie through a 1:1 coaching and movement-based programme tailored to the menstrual cycle. Together they worked on nervous system regulation, phase-specific yoga, symptom tracking, and developing energy, nutrition, and rest routines aligned with her cycle. Over time, they built a personalised, rhythm-based wellbeing practice that transformed how Julie related to her body and pain.

The Timeline

1 month: Started tracking her cycle and recognising energy and symptom patterns
3 months: First pain-free period night in years, improved sleep and reduced anxiety
6 months: Reduced reliance on painkillers, stable energy rhythms, fewer sick days, improved work performance

Current Status

Julie managed her symptoms successfully for years with the cycle-informed tools she developed. When symptoms returned, she chose to have a private hysterectomy, uncovering a 4cm fibroid and endometrial tissue. Post-surgery, she and Samantha began working together again to create a new rhythm-based wellbeing practice, grounded in her remaining hormonal shifts. Though her cycle has changed, Julie remains deeply connected to her body’s wisdom, and now moves forward with clarity and calm.

Reclaiming Rhythm After a Decade of PMDD and Suspected ADHD

Charlotte, 42:

The Struggle

For over 10 years, Charlotte lived in a cycle of emotional shutdowns, irritability, and overwhelm, symptoms peaking during her luteal phase. The intense mood swings and exhaustion affected her relationships, family life, and sense of self. Though prescribed antidepressants, she never received support that addressed her suspected ADHD or hormonal patterns. She felt lost, misunderstood, and like she was being treated for the wrong thing.

Previous Attempts

Long-term antidepressant use, GP support, self-research but no integrative care or cycle education. Despite seeking answers, Charlotte was left feeling broken and confused by what was happening in her mind and body.

Approach

Samantha created a space for neurodivergent-aware, cycle-led care. Their sessions centred on body literacy, hormone-ADHD interactions, and emotional regulation through routine, reflection, and rest. Together, they built a sustainable rhythm that allowed Charlotte to understand her energy patterns, regulate emotions premenstrually, and advocate for herself with her GP.

The Timeline

Few weeks: Noticed symptom patterns, clearer communication with family, sense of validation
3 months: Tapered off long-term antidepressants (with GP guidance), increased emotional stability
6 months: Managing PMDD without medication, deepened emotional awareness, feeling connected and empowered in her body

Current Status

Charlotte now lives symptom-aware and medication-free. Her cycle has become a trusted guide — not a monthly source of dread. She understands how her suspected ADHD influences her hormonal landscape and has tools to support herself with compassion. She describes this work as “life-changing.”

“Transformation doesn’t always take months or years. I’ve worked with people for just a few sessions who’ve walked away with a completely different understanding of their body and a toolkit that made life immediately more manageable.” – Samantha Garstin
